WORSHIP | Mask Update
DOWNTOWN CHURCH,
Following the updated guidance from the CDC related to COVID-19, the Session and Staff of DOWNTOWN CHURCH have the following updates regarding worship:
Vaccinated persons are no longer required to wear a mask.
Those who are not vaccinated are encouraged to wear a mask out of love for our neighbors.
DOWNTOWN KIDS (DTK) workers will continue to wear masks to protect and model safety for our unvaccinated kids. Kids who are unvaccinated and old enough to wear a mask are encouraged to wear one at worship and inside DTK rooms.
Additionally, in order to simplify worship, beginning Sunday June 6th worship will occur facing in a singular direction inside.
What? I like sitting outside! The good news is that we will have seats outside on the courtyard by the open garage doors where you can sit outside and worship.
Why? Worship in the round is beautiful, but it is complicated. With less staff this summer and added guest preachers, we are working to simplify worship while still offering multiple opportunities to engage at your own risk tolerance. Online worship will continue to be produced live and released as a podcast later on Sundays. You can access our podcast here: www.downtownchurch.me/sermon-audio
Worshipping on the back lawn has been a real gift for us as we navigate the weird waters of COVID. Know that we are not losing the back lawn. You know us, we have lots of ideas on how to use this space in future. We’re talking concerts, food truck parties, field days, and occasional outdoor worship. Our goal has been and will always be to provide space for transformational worship and connection with Jesus. We thank you for trusting us to do that.
Gratefully,
DTC Session and Staff
