CONNECT | Spiritual Direction
One of the questions we ask at DOWNTOWN CHURCH is "Where is God in this?"
We're taking that question a step further during the season of Easter by inviting Lisa Howland, a certified Spiritual Director, to lead a book study on Henri Nouwen's book Spiritual Direction.
For seven weeks, we'll meet up in person, masked, at Central Energy and dig deeper into our faith, asking questions and encouraging one another along as we share our stories. You don't have to be able to make all seven Sundays to sign up.

More About Lisa:
Lisa is a forty-six year old Protestant woman, mother of two teens and married to Joey for the past twenty-one years. She started coming to worship at DOWNTOWN CHURCH when her friends, Lee and Jennings Walker, invited her. This was early on in the pandemic. She and Joey have stuck around.
A best day for Lisa would be to wake up early, spend time with God and lots of coffee, walk her dogs in the woods, and finish the day with a gathering of her closest friends and family for dinner.
Lisa began her own contemplative journey in the fall of 2013, meeting weekly with her own spiritual director to complete the Ignatian spiritual exercises. Having been a Christian for thirty years prior with much head knowledge, her heart had not yet fully surrendered to the Lord. The long journey from head to heart is ongoing for Lisa, and she appreciates other pilgrims sharing the road alongside her.
