GIVE | Boost Hooray Update
Over the course of five weeks this spring, we crossed a big milestone as a church. For our first three years a significant portion of our income came from funds given in support of DOWNTOWN CHURCH by our partner churches (Eastminster and Forest Lake), Trinity Presbytery, the South Atlantic Synod, and the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church USA. Without their support, DTC would be a vision, not a church. This year their total support was $95,000, or about ⅓ of our annual budget.
On January 1, 2015 that money will disappear.
Aware of the looming gap, we held a series of dinners in the spring updating people about the current status of DTC and what the future holds. Nine families opened their homes. The intimate dinners were a great way to hear about the church you call home and how you can be a part of the future.
After dinner, we presented the facts and asked people to step up. As you can see from the info graphic above, the response was overwhelming. This level of commitment gives DTC a solid base for the future. Even more impressive, after we sent an email to our stakeholders with this same announcement a few weeks ago even more of you stepped up to help close the gap.
Next year our budget will grow to an estimated $450,000. Another pastor and enhanced programming for the children will account for most of the increase. If you aren't supporting the church through a regular monthly gift, now's a good time to start. You can make a pledge online or set up an automatic recurring gift by clicking here.
To all those who gave us a boost this spring - thank you. Your commitment to support DOWNTOWN CHURCH with your money sets us up for a bright future
