LENT : Grace, Space, Pace

Grace, Space, Pace: A Journey Through Lent

As we enter these 40 days of Lent, I invite you to consider three simple words that might guide our journey —Grace, Space, and Pace:

Grace - This season begins and ends with God's extraordinary love. Rather than seeing Lent primarily as a time of deprivation, remember we're utterly dependent on God's grace. Any fasting or discipline we undertake isn't to earn favor but to open ourselves more fully to the grace already abundantly given.

Space - In our crowded lives, Lent invites us to create margin. What might we set aside to make room for contemplation? Perhaps it's a habit that distracts, or simply carving out moments of silence. In this space, we might hear God's whisper that gets drowned out by noise.

Pace - Our world values speed and productivity. Lent calls us to a different rhythm - one of intentional slowness. When we adjust our pace, we notice what we've been missing: the needs of others, the stirrings of our own hearts, the gentle presence of God in ordinary moments.

As we journey through these 40 days, may we lean into grace, create space, and find a pace that brings us closer to the heart of God.
