SERVE | ReRun

My name is Doug Ryan. I've been coming to DOWNTOWN CHURCH for a while with my wife Diane. My hobby, if not obsession has been cycling for many years. I have raced and ridden all over the country. And then the good Lord decided that phase of my life was over. And although He didn't do it on my timeline, He decided I needed to give back and that's where Rerun comes in. ReRun repairs and then donates bikes to folks in Columbia who need them.

Rerun was a pet project of DTC’s former pastor Amos. When Amos left, it went dormant. Then with the benefit of a generous donation I realized this was God's plan for me and DOWNTOWN CHURCH. The pandemic has put a damper on our progress but the demand from local orphanages and halfway houses has not diminished. We continue to be blessed with donations of bicycles and parts and now have a warehouse full thanks to the continuing work of Mick, our donation coordinator.

If you’d like to volunteer with ReRun or donate a used bike, please join us! ReRun meets in the garage building across the street from CE on the Sunday afternoons shown below. Volunteering usually consists of repairing bikes that have been donated, testing those bikes, and delivering them to our ministry partners: all skill levels of bike maintenance are welcome!
