CHRISTMAS | EVE 2020
Christmas Eve
We’ve got a special Christmas Eve service for you to enjoy from home. The video will be live and ready for you to view at 6:00 PM on Christmas Eve on our website. If you are on our email list you’ll get an email with a link and if you are not on our list, no worries, the video will be on our home page.
We’ve cancelled our in-person services on the back lawn because it is 100 percent chance of rain with 20 mile per hour winds. Stop by 2030 Gregg Street between 10 AM – 4 PM today to pick up your Silent Night candles.
As you plan your Christmas Eve….
Set a time to watch the video.
It will go live on our homepage at 6:00 PM and stay up for the next 12 days (of Christmas). Tell the people in your household what time you plan to watch it or schedule a call with your grandma to watch at the same time over facetime. The best part about this video is that it is easy to share with family and friends no matter where they live.
Who you gonna call?
If you are missing the community and want to connect, call someone. The pastors are available if you want to talk. Email the church (connect@downtownchurch.me) with your number and a pastor will get back to you as soon as they can.
Leverage the interwebs.
Snap a photo and tag @downtownchurch on instagram, you’ll be able to see the faces you miss, watching from their homes if they also post photos. #SaveMySeatDTC
7 Good Things About Watching From Home:
You don’t have to show up an hour early for a seat. You know how it’s always crowded and you have to search for a seat. Not this year! Front row is all yours.
You don’t have to put on that itchy sweater, or a tie. You don’t have to wrestle your children into a jacket that won’t fit in their carseat. No need to shower or wash your hair and wear uncomfortable shoes.
Your pet can join you for service. Dog, cat, bird, iguana — they can all enjoy the sermon this year.
You can watch by the fireplace or your Christmas Tree (that hopefully isn’t dried out by now, since we know you got it before December 1).
You can crunch on Christmas cookies the whole time you watch the service and no one will give you the side eye.
You can watch the service over and over again. Fastforward. Rewind. Repeat.
You can sing along to Silent Night as loudly and off-key as you want.
