Welcome Emily Hylden!

Hailing from the Great State of Minnesota, Emily is the oldest of six, with an obsession for baking and throwing dinner parties. She moved down south for college and picked up a husband, Jordan, and a dog, Ben, while in grad school.

Told in high school that women should be quiet and take care of children, Emily took up the guitar and joined her church's worship team; during college, she loved mentoring young women in sorority recruitment so much that she became a peer minister; when she had so many questions about God she thought she'd burst, she did the upper-middle-class white girl thing and got a master's degree.

Emily went into ministry because she loves listening to what people are discovering about God. Though if she had it to do over again, she’d become a nun--praying all day, going to bed early, and baking bread.

Emily blogs at "hope of things not seen" (emilyhylden.com) and teaches yoga at Amsa (amsayoga.com).

Emily joins DOWNTOWN CHURCH as the Assistant to the Pastor. Come and  welcome her at Mimosas & Munchies on October 25th.
